About

Good afternoon!

Sophia University's Crest thing...
Welcome to "Edamus' exploits of an exciting Japan"!

This blog is quite simple, it shall chronically order the happenings of a Mr. Ed Stahl -- known as Edamus -- as he embarks on his second trip to Japan. Now, this excursion is very special to Mr. Stahl as he is to study abroad at the Jesuit college of Sophia University -- 上智大学 (jyouchi daigaku) as the natives say it. The image to the right is the crest-thing for Sophia. Pretty cool, right? An eagle with it's wings spread, glaring at you... Making you believe in Jesus. Well, I don't know about that last part. I have heard there are nuns and priests there. Also, check out that greek alphabet! I bet that says "Sophia" in the dead language.

There are two major points one should take with this blog: 1) this is an opinionated account of one person's history and 2) don't take it too seriously. I, Edamus, will be updating the blog as often as I see fit for my friends and family I have left back in the states who happen to care about my whereabouts whilst I'm away; with that, they are my opinions and viewpoints of what I hear, say, see, or do. Don't misconstrue my diatribes as accepted fact; do, however, accept that they are the ramblings of a 25 year old male.

So, there we go. "Edamus' exploits of an exciting Japan" is quite simply my take on my journey. It is very personal to me and I wish to share it.

A little bit about myself...
Edamus and his mighty (late) steed

I was born May 22nd, 1985 in Charlotte, NC to two loving parents. I was raised quite well and am indebted to my parents for who I am today. When I was 6 years old, I accidentally electrically shocked myself and as a result am missing a few fingers. I have never let that get me down, though, and continued to live my childhood to the best of my abilities. I graduated High School in 2003 and went on to NOT got to college for some time. Eventually attending CPCC and, later, UNC-Charlotte. My majors are International Studies and Japanese, and I wish to teach one day.
